So excited.  There will be three new, glorious acid skincare products hitting the market in the first quarter of this year, that we cannot wait to get our hands on.  Seriously, excited!!

First up is by one of our fave all time brands, LaRoche-Posay.

They have launched a beautiful Hyaluronic acid/ Pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) serum.  HYALU B5 SERUM will be hitting the market later in January, or early February.  In addition to molecularly effective Hyaluronic acid, and Vitamin B5, LaRoche-Posay has added a healing herb, madecassoside, to help boost the active ingredients.  Great for dry, dehydrated skin, fine lines, and skin that needs firming and plumping.  HA is also essential for the skins’ barrier function.  It should be in everyone’s skin care routine as far as we are concerned.  Unlike other HA serums, this one contains silicone, which will make a killer makeup base (smooth and great slip, no pilling).  Other HA serums can be tacky, watery and sticky, that’s why the genius’ at LRP added silicone.  Makeup artist’s dream.  This will be in my kit in time for bridal season.  Guaranteed.

Another favorite brand REN Skincare, may have just made our year.

Acid toners are life.  Love them.  LIVE for them.  This one is genius.  REN errs on the side of caution for sensitive skins.  Clean, gentle, nothing irritating.  This daily AHA tonic contains Lactic Acid (great for dry/distressed/congested skin),  Salicin (a natural BHA) and Azelaic Acid (great for pigmentation).

It will be fabulous for all skin types:

If you prefer to sleep with your acids in a rich, luxurious mask, then this might be right up your street.  SkinCeuticals checks all the boxes. For literally everything.  The newest 10% Glycolic Acid sleep-in mask has not launched yet, and has not reached the website.  This is such breaking news, we don’t even have a packaging shot.  Check back here for updates on availability.

NOTE: Glycolic acid works differently for everyone.  Depending on the concentration and frequency of use, you will likely experience peeling.  That’s totally the point.  Don’t be terrified.  If you get irritated, limit use to once weekly, or reduce the concentration in the product you are using.  If you are sleeping in them, you have no worries about the increased sensitivity to UVA/UVB rays.  This is also a “consideration” when using GA.  If using during the day, be sure to incorporate sunscreen.

If your new to GA and are too scared to sleep in a higher concentration product, may we suggest an old reliable GA toner.  A staple favorite glycolic acid product  is the Pixi Glow Tonic.  This contains only 5% glycolic acid.
